Hear Tom's very first message for PPC! |
Alison and I look forward to beginning our relationship with you folks and being a part of this with you. Here’s my brief biography. I’m sure we’ll have great opportunities to fill in the gaps and get to know each of you. Alison and I have been married 31 years. We have two grown children, Jessie and Dave. We’ve lived in Martinsburg, West Virginia for the last 24 years. Alison teaches third grade in Berkeley County. I retired last year after a 32 year career in the information technology industry, first in the US Army and then 27 years with Electronic Data Systems and Hewlett-Packard. I have been a lay pastor for a bit more than five years serving as a supply preacher and, for the last four years, as the pastor of the Kearneysville Presbyterian Church. We are lifelong Presbyterians. My Dad is a retired Presbyterian minister. I began my studies for a Masters of Divinity degree in August 2012 at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. This is a distance learning program for the most part. But, I do have to be in Dubuque, Iowa twice a year in January and August for a resident program. It can’t be helped, but just as we get a good running start with each other, I’ll have to take some time off. However, I know that you will be left in good hands.
